metric definitions
- ROI — (Revenue − COGS − Ad Spend) / Ad Spend × 100. Measures profit generated per dollar spent.
- ROAS — Revenue / Ad Spend. How many dollars of revenue per dollar of ad spend. 4× is a common target.
- Gross Profit — Revenue minus cost of goods. Excludes ad spend.
- Break-even ROAS — Revenue / (Revenue − Gross Profit). The ROAS needed just to cover COGS.
